Rumor: Black Wii Heads Stateside In May

While those in Japan are fortunate enough to have multiple Wii system colors to choose, pickings are slim in the US. Despite Nintendo releasing Wii peripherals decked in black, white stands as the only system color available over yonder. However, if retail listings are any indication, it looks as if Nintendo plans to complement its peripheral lineup with a black Wii next month. It’s about time, we say.
Sources close to GameStop say a reservation program for a new Wii bundle is scheduled to kick off at the US and Canada-based retail chain early next month, with general availability following on May 9 in the US.
Reportedly, the bundle will be available in black and white variants. The same configuration will hit Canadian locations on May 23, according to a Kotaku report.
