Update: As promised, Cliffy B. finally made the inevitable official, unveiling Gears 3 during his stint on Jimmy Fallon. Epic Games mastermind Cliff Bleszinski will make his delayed appearance on the Jimmy Fallon show tonight. What’s in store for viewers, you ask? The first public unveiling of Gears of War 3. Talk about dropping a bombshell.

OK, not really. Many already speculated that Cliffy’s next was a Gears title, so the revelation comes as hardly surprising. This will be a proper reveal, footage and all, according to Cory Cavin, a producer for the show:

Oh no big deal. Just a Lancer Assualt Rifle from the all new Gears Of War 3 produced by Project Triforce. Oh, and there’s a Locust Drone behind me. You know, normal Monday. Tune in tonight to see more Gears of War 3 news and see some exclusive footage from GOW3. Yes? YES.

That seals the deal, folks. Gears of War 3 is official.
