GeoHot Teases PS3 Custom Firmware In Response To OtherOS Removal
by Mike Bendel on March 29, 2010 @ 2:09 pm

This should get interesting. Taken aback by Sony’s decision to remove the ability to run third-party code and operating sytems through OtherOS on PS3, George “geohot” Hotz has responded by issuing a terse warning on his personal blog, urging those interested in the exploit and retaining OtherOS functionality to skip the soon-to-be-released firmware 3.21 update.
Hotz’s statement, verbatim, is below:
When 3.21 comes out, I will look into a safe way of updating to retain OtherOS support, perhaps something like Hellcat’s Recovery Flasher. I never intended to touch CFW, but if that’s how you want to play…
And so the game of cat and mouse commences.
