Mafia II Dated for August 24

2K has stamped a date on its oft-delayed mobster shooter Mafia II, announcing that the title will release in North America on August 24. A European release will follow on August 27.
Players assume the role of Vito, an Italian descendant. Desperate and struggling to escape a life of poverty, he turns to organized crime, joining the ranks of the Empire Bay mafia syndicate. With his lifelong friend Joe following suit, the duo enter a unforgiving world of deception and greed in their blood-soaked rise to the top.
A multi-platform effort, look for it to hit PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.
