Well as we all pretty much knew, Miyamoto has said the Wii hardware is still basically a GC at the core. He also explained that he wants to do remakes of Gamecube games with the Wii features.

Of course, these games would be sold at a lower price.. but still, remakes aren’t the way to go with a system like this.. Nintendo should make all new, innovative games. Leave the GC titles alone.
