Always one to embrace the element of surprise, famed Nintendo designer Shigeru Miyamoto dropped word shortly after his BAFTA award acceptance that development on Pikmin 3 is “well underway.” This is according to those tweeting from the event, namely the UK division of Official Nintendo Magazine.

The existence of Pikmin 3 itself comes as no shock, considering it was name-dropped during a Nintendo roundtable discussion back in 2008. However, the fact that development is steadily progressing further is reassuring. Gives us a smidge of hope that it might make an E3 appearance this year.
