Nintendo DSi XL Hits US Shores March 28

Nintendo announced today that the DSi’s supersized sibling, the DSi XL, will hit North American shores March 28.
The unit hit Japan last year under the moniker of DSi LL, sporting two 4.2 inch screens and a jumbo stylus. Larger is synonymous with a price premium. The XL will set those interested back $189.99 — $20 more than the going rate for a regular DSi.
If you haven’t made the jump to a DSi yet, picking up an XL may be worth it, especially if DSiWare piques your interest at all. On the other hand, if you already have one and find yourself squinting to clearly see the screen, perhaps it’s time to visit the ophthalmologist for a checkup. Otherwise, for those on a budget, we’d recommend waiting it out for a real successor to the DS.
