VF5 On Xbox 360 To Feature Online Multiplayer

In news that is sure to surprise many VF fans, SEGA confirmed today that the upcoming Xbox 360 version of Virtua Fighter 5 will feature online multiplayer.
In addition to online play, the game will include a beefed up Quest mode, featuring more CPU rivals, items, and emblems for character customization. Also, DOJO mode has been upgraded with leaderboards, training move settings, improved throw and escape training, and the option to change your opponent’s position and recovery type.
This will probably come as disappointing news to owners of the PlayStation 3 version of VF5, which is completely absent of any online features. Though, it’s entirely possible SEGA could release a downloadable patch or update to include online multiplayer on the PS3 version, but for now SEGA is giving it the old “No comment.”
In conjunction with the announcement, SEGA sent over some new screenshots of VF5 on Xbox 360. More after the jump.
