Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands Drops May 18, Wii Version Detailed

Ubisoft today pinned a May 18 release date on Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands, alongside revealing new details on the Wii iteration of the title. Built entirely from the ground-up at the company’s Quebec City-based studio, it “utilizes the full graphical capabilities of the Wii.”

According to the press release, Ubisoft made a strong push towards leveraging the Wii’s strengths with this one, promising “unique controls” that take full advantage of the motion-sensing capable hardware. Laden with alternate paths, secret areas and unlockables, total gameplay length is said to clock in at 15 hours.

Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands hits every platform under the sun on May 18 — PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, PSP, Nintendo DS, and PC.

It looks quite good, rather reminiscent of the TSOT trilogy. I just hope they don't screw it up by trying to fit in an odd prequel in the middle.
