Square Enix Officially Announces Special Edition Final Fantasy XIII Xbox 360 Hardware Bundle

In gearing up for what Square Enix calls “the biggest video game launch of 2010,” the special edition Final Fantasy XIII hardware bundle we broke word about late last Tuesday has now been made official. As a recap, the $399-priced bundle includes a 250GB hard drive, two wireless controllers, an AV cable, a headset, a network cable, exclusive downloadable avatar items, and a copy of FFXIII itself.
Square Enix did drop a detail we hadn’t heard about before, notably that said 250GB hard drive is engraved with the Final Fantasy XIII name. A hard drive, of all things. Nothing like having a special version of what is arguably Microsoft’s most overpriced accessory, right? In all seriousness, though, it does up the collector’s value a smidge.
Separate from the hardware bundle, Square Enix plans to offer an FFXIII themed faceplate. It’ll be available in “very limited numbers.”
Final Fantasy XIII hits March 9 in North America and Europe.
