Alan Wake Dated, Launches May 18 On Xbox 360

Microsoft today announced that Remedy’s moody psychological action thriller Alan Wake will hit the Xbox 360 on May 18, with a European release following on May 21. It’s been a long time coming for this one. And that’s somewhat of an understatement, considering it was first announced way back during E3 2005.
Those who pre-order at select retailers will receive a Bright Falls Bonus Pack. Comprised of exclusive digital goodies, it packs avatar gear, an Xbox LIVE theme, and a “making of” video. A collector’s edition will be on offer as well, featuring bonus discs of behind-the-scenes footage, exclusive in-game commentary and hints from Remedy, and a game soundtrack for your premium dollars. While there’s no word on pricing yet, expect this edition of the game to fall within the ballpark of $70-80 dollars.
As for a PC release, last we heard it’s still being considered but ultimately up to Microsoft at this point. We’d certainly like to see it happen. With roots dating back to the birth of the excellent Max Payne franchise, Remedy is a well-known and respected developer in the PC community. Seeing that long-standing heritage end with Alan Wake would be disappointing, to say the least.
