As part of an effort to reinforce its emphasis on digital distribution, THQ announced today that it has renamed its Juice Games and Rainbow Studios development studios to THQ Digital Studios Warringtonand and Phoenix. The two studios will focus their attention towards driving THQ’s presence in the vast and rapidly-growing market of digital distribution.

Specifically, their development duties will entail working on THQ’s “core game brands,” in addition to assisting in the creation of new original intellectual properties. THQ says the first games from both studios are slated for a release in the company’s fiscal 2011 year.
