Linked In Profile Confirms Final Fantasy XIV Is Xbox 360 Bound

Right now, official word from Square Enix is that Final Fantasy XIV, the in-name massively multiplayer follow-up to part XI, is coming to PS3 and PC. Although yet to be officially confirmed, it looks as if an Xbox 360 release is on the cards as well, if the Linked In profile of CG artist Yuuki Akama is any indication.
Specifically, the work experience section of Akama’s profile lists that she is currently working on Final Fantasy XIV for “PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.” Not exactly surprising and certainly within the realm of possibility, one reason being Square Enix’s intent to expand its Western presence. Another is the fact that the potential revenue stream offered by Xbox Live is simply too lucrative to ignore, especially for such a well-known brand.
Back at Sony’s E3 media briefing in June, SCEA CEO Jack Tretton announced that FFXIV would be exclusive to PS3 at launch. Soon after, Square Enix quickly dismissed that revelation by clarifying that they were still considering other alternatives, such as releasing the title on a Microsoft platform.
