The localized version of GSC Game World’s DirectX 11-powered free roam FPS S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat will hit North American shelves in February 2010. Picking up where the original left off, players assume the role of Alexander Degtyaryov, a Ukraine Secret Service agent investigating a series of helicopter crashes in a nuclear wasteland known as the Zone.

With each new installment, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. titles have traditionally pushed the technological envelope and we expect this one to be no different. Having a beefy system is a must if you want to experience this one with all eye candy settings cranked up. To that end, we’d like to point out that developer GSC is currently offering a benchmark tool on their site, allowing you to determine if your system is up to the task of running it ahead of time.
