$32.8 Million Spent On America’s Army Over Ten Years

It has come to light that America’s Army, originally purported to be a $7 million flat project by the US military, outstripped its forecasted budget by a rather large margin. According to data obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request, GameSpot discovered that a total of $32.8 million has been sunk into the virtual recruitment tool since its inception back in 2000.
That’s a hefty amount of cash blown on a game that by all accounts isn’t exactly anything special. A solid shooter, sure, but a far cry from other AAA efforts in the same genre. Makes us wonder why it cost so much. Marketing, perhaps. So for the US folks among us, how do you feel knowing $32.8 million of your tax dollars went to funding this title? I sure don’t feel like it was worth it.
