Ok, normally we don’t write about Wii Virtual Console updates in Japan, but this particular week warrants discussion. Why? The VC over there actually got a role-playing game this week. And it’s not any old RPG – it’s Capcom’s original SNES Breath of Fire II. For only 800 Wii Points, you can get what is arguably Ryu’s finest adventure. Not a bad deal at all, seeing as the SNES and GBA versions both fetch considerably high prices on eBay.

Three other classic titles also hit Japan this week. Price details are as follows:

• Pooyan (Famicom – 500 Wii Points)
• Breath of Fire 2 (Super Famicom – 800 Wii Points)
• Ecco the Dolphin 2 (Mega Drive – 600 Wii Points)
• Silent Debuggers (PC Engine – 600 Wii Points)

Let’s hope Nintendo decides to bring Breath of Fire II stateside soon. Seeing as it has already been rated by the ESRB it should be heading our way eventually.
