If the lack of dedicated server support on the PC version of Modern Warfare 2 isn’t dissuading you from buying, then you might be interested in knowing the system requirements, which retailer GameStop revealed today on its website.

The requirements are very modest, as expected as MW2 is running on what is essentially a tweaked CoD 4 engine. Even those with a budget-spec rig will be able to handle this one at respectable settings without issue.

MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:

Hard Drive Space : 16 GB free hard drive space
Operating System : Windows® Vista/XP
Processor : AMD 64 3200+ or Intel Pentium® 4 3.0GHz or better
RAM : 512 MB RAM (XP) / 1 GB RAM (VISTA)
Video Card : Shader 3.0 or better 256 MB nVidia® GeForce™ 6600GT / ATI® Radeon™ 1600XT or better

MenaceInc says:

I'd have no problem running it :P

online multiplayer is going to suck though with no dedicated servers for the PC D:

16 GB space? It seems we'll watch a lot of HD video.

MenaceInc says:

Doubtful. The CoD series doesn't really use pre-rendered video so the space must be taken up by both more and more detailed models and textures and must also account for swapspace for anyone out there with less than 4GB of RAM. 8)

Tjrocksozzi says:

if i have a 2.09GHZ processor can i still run it

MenaceInc says:

that tells us nothing of the CPU. It could be an i7 running at 2.09GHz and it would run MW2 perfectly however it could be a Celeron running at 2.09GHz in which case, it wouldn't.
