According to a report sourcing Arstechnica’s ever-reliable “mole,” Microsoft is poised to release a 802.11n capable wireless adapter for Xbox 360. As a result, the 802.11g adapter of old will be marked down to the slightly more palatable price of $79.99, just under two bills. Still a bit more expensive than we’d like, especially when considering the PS3 already has WiFi built in and factored into the base cost. You’d think Microsoft would have made it a standard feature by now, but that is unfortunately not the case.

Nitpicks aside, there’s no word on when the new adapter will hit store shelves as of yet, but we’ll keep you posted.
