Developer Valve sent word that Crash Course, the second downloadable content pack for Left 4 Dead will hit Steam and Xbox 360 on September 29. In usual Valve fashion, it will be available free of charge to PC owners of the game, adding an all-new set of maps across the single player and multiplayer game modes. Due to Microsoft imposed policies, 360 owners will have to muster up 560 MS points ($7) for the content.

In terms of placement, the campaign itself bridges the gap story-wise between the end of No Mercy and the beginning of Death Toll, offering an explanation of how exactly the survivors ended up in an undead infested forest. Minor tweaks have worked their way into the DLC pack as well, including a recharge meter for infected as well as changes to the way items are spawned in an effort to further gameplay balance.

i thought 360 people had to pay?

lastoneleft_00 says:

I thought they did also. I am excited for this though, so does the intected meter mean that your life with recharge???

x3sphere says:

I have amended the article, you are right it is not free for 360 owners. The email Valve sent out made no mention of a price so I was under the assumption it was free.

I am looking forward to this, should tide me over till the sequel comes out. @lastoneleft_00: I think what they mean by the recharge meter is it shows a visual representation of how long your have to wait until your next attack (as Boomer or Smoker for instance) to other teammates.
