The onslaught of product delays rage on. Publisher Activision today announced that it has decided to push back Blizzare Creations’ action-packed, over-the-top racing effort Blur into early 2010. Previously scheduled to hit PS3, Xbox 360 and PC in November, the move was prompted to allow for more development time, specifically in the multiplayer department.

We are committed to making Blur a great new racing franchise, and we are very encouraged by the game’s design,” stated Mike Griffith, President and CEO, Activision Publishing. “The additional time will allow the studio to fully optimize the vision they set out to create for Blur including a distinctive and groundbreaking multiplayer mode that will appeal to a broad audience.

Suppose it’s for the best, really. Seeing as Blur is a new franchise not riding on the success of its name, the risk is higher and it needs all the polish it can get. Besides, we’ll be busy with Modern Warfare 2 in November.
