Finally, after nearly two days of speculation, and then Sony’s official confirmation – PS3 Firmware 1.81 is now available for download. What does it fix? A small bug that affects users who are using the Full RGB option with an HDMI-connected PS3. Previously, even if you had selected Full RGB – the console would sometimes default itself back to limited RGB output upon rebooting. All patched up now though!
