With High Voltage Software ramping up development efforts on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, the company has chosen to enter into a agreement with Terminal Reality to license its Infernal Engine middleware indefinitely.

Expect any future PS3 and 360 titles coming from the studio to be powered by Infernal, as High Voltage is in for the long haul on this one, having committed to a long term agreement.

With more than 75 titles shipped, High Voltage Software has a proven track record of developing quality products on all of the current platforms. Through the use of the Infernal Engine technologies, they are now able to extend that remarkable track record into the next-generation platforms.

Of course, High Voltage isn’t abandoning its proprietary Quantum 3 engine. We’ll likely see it used in future Wii titles, possibly in a sequel to The Conduit if sales of the original are enough to warrant one.
