Capcom gets Steamed

Less than a few weeks ago it was Eidos’ Lara Croft getting steamed, and now its Capcom. The company announced today that it will begin releasing PC games through Valve’s successful Steam digital distribution service. The current release schedule includes PC versions of Lost Planet: Extreme Condition, Onimusha 3, Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition, and Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo HD Remix.
Available later this week will be Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition and in a few weeks we’ll see the release of Onimusha 3. Also, Lost Planet: Extreme Condition will be hitting Steam and retail channels simultaneously on June 26, while Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo HD Remix is set to roll out later this year.
Not sure about you, but I like the fact that Capcom is releasing games on Steam. The service is easy to use, not bloated, and above all it means not having to bust out the CDs (or DVDs) to install after reformatting. Just download and go.
