Speedball II heads to XBLA
by Mike Bendel on June 12, 2007 @ 10:00 am

Empire Interactive announced today that it is bringing the no-rules, futuristic sports game Speedball II to Microsoft’s Xbox Live Arcade service. As a faithful representation of the 1991 Amiga classic, Speedball 2: Brutal Deluxe for XBLA will retain what made the original great, but with added teams, HD visuals, and downloadable content. All for 800 Microsoft Points.
Never played Speedball before? It’s brutal. Part handball and ice hockey, the game is played with a ball made of cold steel. The court itself is also surrounded by steel walls. There are no rules, any kind of contact is allowed. Look for Speedball 2: Brutal Deluxe to hit a Live Arcade near you later this year.
