Valkyria Chronicles 2 PSP Bound

After an admittedly shaky yet refreshingly successful stint on PS3, Sega’s anime-styled RPG Valkyria Chronicles is getting the sequel treatment and in an unlikely move, it’s being released on a portable.
Due out this Winter in Japan, the PSP-exclusive Valkyria Chronicles 2 looks very much like the original from an aesthetic standpoint, sporting a watercolor-like visual flair. Clearly, nothing appears to have been lost in the transition to a portable format. The behind-the-back character viewpoint is also making a return. Although details are still light, it appears Sega is refraining from making any significant changes to the original’s successful and solid formula. Sometimes keeping things relatively unchanged is the best route to take.
A stateside release has yet to be announced, but considering the original was received to much fanfare, we’ll likely see it localized eventually.
