Dragon Quest IX Shifts 2.3 Million In Two Days

Dragon Quest IX is off to a great start in Japan, having sold 2,343,440 copies in its first two days of retail sales, according to tracking service Enterbrain. That figure already puts it above its PS2 predecessor, as first week sales for Dragon Quest VIII totaled 2.23 million. Impressive, but considering the sheer popularity of the franchise in Japan, it’s not exactly a surprising feat either.
At any rate, if the brisk sales continue, it presumably won’t be long before Square Enix crowns IX as the top-selling installment in the series.
