While the phenomenon of games enjoying brisk sales long after their retail release is common for Wii efforts, it is more of a rare occurrence on other consoles. Sega’s PS3-exclusive fantasy RPG Valkyria Chronicles was an exception to this rule, having seen a 400 percent increase in sales this past April. The clincher is that it was released nearly six months ago and from a retail standpoint underwhelmed at launch.

Sega attributed the sharp jump in sales to a limited-time price drop, DLC offerings, fan competitions, and general word-of-mouth. Considering the title received universal praise from critics, it’s nice to see it finally garnering the attention it deserved.

I've heard good things about it, so I may pick it sometime, since I'm looking for a good rpg anyway.
