Money is evidently no object for EarthBound fanatics, as one fan dropped over $1K — $1,025.01 to be exact — on an unopened copy of the 1995 SNES original. Collector or not, it’s rare to see someone dropping that much cash on a single game, especially in the current economic state. Shows how devoted the most passionate of EarthBound fans really are. No, make that crazy.

You’re likely thinking, “wish I would’ve snapped up a few copies way back when.” Yeah, so are we.

Never even heard of the game - I do think console games if unopened hold value though.

yeah it probably doesn't have that value, but hey if you want it that bad then you should be able to pay 1k for it, lol.

I can't believe you guys don't know this game. But then again, you have to be at least around 18 years of age to remember this piece of art, although I've never completed it. It's one of the most respected RPG's on the SNES, although it has the looks of a pre-pokemon game :) Some might know it under the name of "Mother 2" instead of "Earthbound".

I would pay down this amount of money for a sealed Chrono Trigger if I could spare it, but personally not for this title.
