It was rumored earlier this month that a second entry in the mutant-infested S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series was in development and sure enough, GSC Game World today confirmed the existence of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat.
The game’s story is set to pick up after the events that unfolded in Shadow of Chernobyl. A government-funded operation codenamed Fairway is launched in an effort to secure control of the CNPP. This tactical exercise is met with sudden failure when nearly all of the avant-garde helicopters on patrol mysteriously crash. Ukraine’s Security Service sends out a rouge agent, who players assume the role of, to investigate.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat is due out exclusively on PC later this autumn. For key list of features and enhancements from previous installments in the series, look past the break.
