According to an MCV report, media conglomerate Warner Bros is itching for an acquisition, and their sights might just be set on the financially-troubled Mortal Kombat IP holder Midway. The prospect of such a deal is far from definitive, as other unnamed parties are also expressing interest, but Warner looks to be the most interested buyer:

Warner is pretty confident that they will get Midway – which will be an immediate boost to their portfolio. The deal isn’t done yet. Midway is still open to offers from other potential buyers – but Warner looks to be favourite to wrap it up. They look ready to put the money on the table.

Midway previously set a flat sale price of $30 million for the entire stable of its properties. However, much is still up in the air, as it may choose to sell off those IPs individually. Other prominent IPs held by the company include arcade hits Gauntlet, Joust and Galaga.
