It is no secret that a new entry in the long-running Tony Hawk skateboarding series is in development. Activision revealed last year that it was taking a break from churning out yearly iterations of the franchise on PS3 and Xbox 360 in an attempt to reshape and reboot the franchise, as many felt it was growing stale with the release of Proving Ground.

That brings us to the news at hand. Spike TV host Geoff Keighley twittered today that he’s heading off to chat with Hawk himself about “the new game.” Could that mean a possible unveil on GameTrailers TV may be near? Possibly. Reasonable to assume he wouldn’t be laying down these obvious hints if otherwise.

The Tony Hawk reboot is heavily rumored to make use of a custom skateboarding peripheral. Activision themselves alluded to such a move during a conference call when CEO Michael Griffith noted that “this won’t be your father’s Tony Hawk.”
