Stop whatever you’re doing and listen up: Duke Nukem Forever has reached a “milestone” in its 12-year development cycle. 3DRealms co-founder George Broussard speaks briefly on the feat in a recent Twitter update:

Closing out a milestone this week. 71 more tasks to do and we started with probably 800-900. Been a good push. Next one starts Monday.

Hold the horses, George: isn’t it a little late for an April Fools jig? Kidding. Hopefully this means we’ll be seeing another proper trailer soon, or at least a small piece of concept art. Anything that can prove to our eyes that development is moving along just swell would be great, really.

HAHA what a joke, let's see if this ever comes out, if it doesn't it will go down in history as the longest game in dev history that never got released! And if it does, it still will go down in history as the longest game in dev,,, lol

I'll be quite honest. I stopped caring about this fucking game years ago. Right now I am in, release game or STFU. Fuck 3DRealms and their hype machine, and I am going to just fucking laugh my ass off if this game turns out to be a bomb.

@Professor Burnt: To be fair, that can be hard when you're talking about a company that has made promises upon promises for over ten years but still has yet to deliver.

TBH, I've completely lost interest in this game. If it ever comes out, great, I'll probably pick it up. But it's just not on my radar anymore after all these years of waiting.
