Nintendo announced today that its Wii MotionPlus accessory will launch across U.S. shores on June 8. Priced at $19.99, the device offers increased accuracy over the original Wii Remote, netting precise motion-tracking throughout all 360 degrees of movement.

Wii MotionPlus represents a new evolution in video game control. The variety of fun games in Wii Sports Resort show off its incredible precision,” said Cammie Dunaway, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. “Developers around the world are busy working on new ways to incorporate Wii MotionPlus controls into inventive experiences for consumers.

Wii Sports Resort will be the first proper title to take advantage of the MotionPlus enhancements, which is scheduled to hit retailers July 26. The device and game will reach Europe on June 12 and July 24, respectively.

Finally!

How long have we waited for the motionplus? :P

mortalinstincts says:

So the old games will still be the same?

x3sphere says:

Yeah, games have to be specifically coded to take advantage of the MotionPlus, otherwise it just acts as a regular Wii Remote.

So pretty much at this point it wouldn't really be worth it with only a few number of games using it. I'll probably wait a while before droping 19.99 x 4 on it, lol
