By way of a report from Arstechnica’s ever-reliable mole on all things Xbox, word comes that Microsoft plans to introduce a new 360 Elite bundle that includes Fable II and Halo 3 as pack-ins.

While at first glance you may shrug this off as nothing special, it’s pertinent to note that this bundle will effectively replace the current Xbox 360 Elite SKU, meaning that it will retail for the same price: $400. That’s quite the deal. If you’re currently in the market for an Elite, may want to hold off on your purchase.

No word on when the bundle will hit retailers, although an announcement is said to be imminent, as soon as next week.

So... they're throwing in Halo 3 and Fable 2 at the same price point? Hah. I have to call bullshit on this one. The games average about 30 - 40 bucks each in retail so lets find out the actual price of the XBOX 360 elite

399.99 - 29.99 Halo 3 - 39.99 Fable 2 = 330.01 is the new value of the XBOX Elite.

So if they didn't bundle these games with it to keep the price inflated at 399.99 the actual cost of the XBOX 360 elite would be less.

Nice way to NOT drop the price of your console Microsoft, you're doing the same tactic that Sony is doing with their Playstation 3. Keeping the price inflated and unaffordable by tacking on more useless shit.

fuck , and I just bought one for $20 :p

KingPepper says:

Halo 3 = £9.99 brand new

Elite XBOX360 plus Fable 2 = £219.99

These are the prices in my local games store.....

Total: £229.98, so its cheaper to buy these separately, and still save money.
