Russian-based developer GSC Game World has reportedly confirmed that a second expansion to shooter S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is in the works. The revelation comes by way of an online conference held on the company’s website, which was later translated to English.

Call of Pripyat is said to be the subtitle of the second expansion, a notion that GSC president Sergey Grigorovitch reportedly confirmed during the briefing. While no official information on the title has been announced as of yet, GSC is targeting a late 2009 release. Though given their track record with meeting deadlines, we wouldn’t be surprised if it slips past that. At the very least, assuming this information pans out, it looks as if we can expect a formal announcement soon, perhaps by E3.
