Sony Confirms PSP Store is in the works

When the PlayStation Store first launched, many users were overjoyed with the plethora of PSone classics available, but disappointment quickly arose when PSP owners found out that they would have to download the games to their PS3, and then jump them over to the PSP. Needless to say this is not an enjoyable experience, usually taking an upwards of 30 minutes to download the game, and then going through the transfer process to bring it over to your PSP.
So when will we be able to access the store directly from our PSP? Speaking at yesterday’s Gamers Day event, SCEA CEO Jack Tretton said they will hopefully have some kind of “downloadable service” for the PSP that will be rolled out this Fall.
There you have it, folks. A PSP store is coming. No word on what will be available on this “downloadable service”, but it’s likely that we will see all the PSone games that are currently available on the PS3 Store, plus a bunch of hot new demos and video content.
