No Rage This Year, Says id

id Software’s Tech 5-powered open-world shooter Rage will miss 2009, company CEO Todd Hollenshead revealed in a recent interview with GameTrailers. While this will no doubt come as a disappointment to fans, it’s hardly a surprise.

id has been rather coy with details surrounding the title ever since its initial announcement and Todd himself gave the rather vague release window of “before 2011″ at last year’s QuakeCon. In other words, a 2009 launch was never on the cards.

Here’s hoping for new gameplay footage at QuakeCon this year. Us impatient types need something to ease the wait.
