Sony has announced another entry in its tactical third-person shooter series known as SOCOM. This new title is dubbed SOCOM 3 Confrontation, and it is headed to the PS3′s PlayStation Network this holiday season.

As an online-only title, SOCOM 3 will support up to 32 players, and promises extensible clan management (leaderboards, ladders, and organized tournaments), plus intricate customization features allowing you to fully customize your character from the top down.

Although the game is online-only, you will be able to purchase it as a Blu-ray disc, or as a download from the PlayStation Store.
