Speaking in a recent interview with UK-based Play magazine, the always-frank Sony Europe boss David Reeves admitted that this time, Sony may not be able to stay true to its promised ten year plan for PS3. Life support may be cut off sooner than that, depending upon on how the competition reacts.

The competition will have new models on the market by the end of the PS3. I have no doubt and we’ll have to be fast on our feet…..I don’t know whether the PS3 lifespan will be eight, nine or ten years.
