Valve today confirmed that it has entered into an agreement with independent game designer Jonathan Blow to distribute the PC edition of time-shifting puzzler Braid on Steam.

Priced at a reasonable $14.99, the Steam version of Braid will make use of Valve’s Steamworks toolkit for achievements among other community-based features.

“Braid is arguably the strongest example of what can be accomplished by an independent game designer,” said Jason Holtman, director of business development at Valve. “From GDC to DICE, the title has deservedly collected numerous accolades and, along with World of Goo, Audiosurf and many others, is redefining the way people think about ‘Independent Games.’”

In addition to hitting the Steam platform, Braid will also be available for purchase on Stardock’s Impluse digital distribution system on the same date, minus the Steam specific functionality of course. Full release after the break.

A great mind bending platformer investigating Super Mario's story.

GuiltySpark says:

This is great. I never played this when it hit Xbox Live Arcade last year and I <3 Steam's DRM management, so I guess its a win win situation. I'll be buying.
