EA CEO John Riccitiello dropped word during an investor call earlier this month that Dead Space was due to hit Wii and sure enough, EA announced the title today, finally giving it a proper name: Dead Space Extraction.

Developed from the ground-up for Wii, Extraction is said to expand on the original scenario with the addition of an new heroine, along with an arsenal of new weapons, enemies, puzzles, and co-operative multiplayer gameplay.

“We could not be more excited to extend Dead Space into an experience exclusive to the Wii. Nintendo has a wonderful history in the horror genre and we are thrilled to build on that tradition with Dead Space Extraction,” said Glen Schofield, VP and General Manager of EA Redwood Shores studio.

Dead Space Extraction is slated for a release later this fall.

I LOL'd....seriously, before Resident Evil came out for the Gamecube, Nintendo wasn't known for anything related to survival horror.

There was a port of Resi 2 onto the N64 but that really Nintendo were known for their younger audience.

I should know, I was picked on in the schoolyard over it xD
