Activision Threatens EA With Lawsuit Over Brütal Legend

We thought the Tim Schafer helmed rock-adventure title Brütal Legend was a casualty of Activision Blizzard’s decision to realign its product portfolio and ditch IPs that essentially were not destined for the sequel treatment. Naturally, so did everyone else – except for Activision apparently.
According to a Variety report, Activision has sent a letter to EA notifying them of its legal concerns over Brütal Legend. Why? Activision believes it was still in publishing talks with the game’s developer, Double Fine.
Double Fine and EA announced their partnership back in December. Responding to the claim made by Activision, an EA spokesperson replied, “We doubt that Activision would try to sue. That would be like a husband abandoning his family and then suing after his wife meets a better looking guy.” Oh snap.
