Capcom Makes Dead Rising 2 Official

Following the emergence of a viral trailer last week, publisher Capcom today officially announced that Dead Rising 2 in is development for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. The sequel to 2006′s zombie-slaughtering hit is set several years after the incident in Willamette, with a deadly virus once again infecting tens of thousands of citizens.
Development duties are being handled by Canadian developer Blue Castle Games. While the previous installment was developed in-house, Capcom promises that a number of members from the original Dead Rising team will be working alongside Blue Castle.
Look for further gameplay and story details on Dead Rising 2 to be revealed in the near future. In the meantime, hit the jump for a couple of the first direct-feed screenshots.
